Can Yoga Heal Us?
Can yoga heal us?
No. But:
We can use yoga as a tool to heal ourselves.
Forget about “achieving” yoga poses. Use the yoga poses to heal your body.
It doesn’t matter how far we go, or how fast. Often, going fast is just avoidance. We don’t want to feel whatever we’re moving through, so we “power through,” full speed ahead, and nothing changes.
What does matter is the direction we’re going—into the dark places of the body, trying to bring light to them.
Thinking we’re finished with a pose, that we’ve reached the end, that there’s nothing more to learn from “the basics”—that’s a trap.
It’s easy to find the extremes.
The true challenge is to discover and maintain presence in
the middle.
