DIY Pine-Infused Vinegar Multi-Purpose Cleaner
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…’
…Not really, but a girl can dream! Here in Southern California, I’ve got to try a little harder to make it feel like holiday time, especially when it’s 80 degrees and sunny in the middle of November.
I’m not complaining though. Over the years, I’ve figured out how to have the best of both worlds. This Christmasy pine and cinnamon infused vinegar is a simple way to start setting the mood at home. (Insider trick: I’ve found if I blast Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas while making this multi-purpose cleaner, it enhances the overall holiday spirit.)
Made up of a few cinnamon sticks, some whole cloves, a hearty handful of gathered pine needles, this easy pine-infused vinegar is a great, all-natural, multi-purpose cleaner. It works wonderfully on non-mineral countertops, stovetops, microwaves, the fridge, the bathroom, toys, laminate, and vinyl.*
Plus, it smells…well, it still smells like vinegar, but with an irresistible hint of christmas trees and gingerbread houses. And knowing that it’s all-natural, zero-waste, and toxin-free makes you feel like it really is the most wonderful time of the year, even as you’re bent over the stove, scrubbing up little splatters of cider and hot cocoa.
Here’s to a merry and clean Christmas!
*NOTE: Vinegar should not be used on mineral surfaces like marble and granite, as over time, it can wear away at the finish.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
a 32 oz mason jar with a tight-fitting lid
a 16 oz reusable glass spray bottle (brown, with UV protection will maximize the vinegar’s longevity)
a generous handful of fresh gathered pine-needles
3 cinnamon sticks
a tablespoon whole cloves
INSTRUCTIONS
Place pine needles, cinnamon sticks, and cloves into jar. Top off with vinegar.
Seal with a tight-fitting lid, and let stand for two weeks.
After two weeks has passed, strain out the pine needles, cinnamon, and cloves.
In a spray bottle, combine equal parts infused vinegar with distilled water, and start spritzing!
Store any leftover infused vinegar in its jar until you’re ready to use more. It should last about five months.
Merry Cleaning!
